Answering a Subscriber Call
When a subscriber rings, their Line Drop will fall.
Choose an open circuit and connect the Answer plug to the subscriber Line Jack.
The Line Drop will automatically reset when a circuit is plugged-in.
Push the Listen switch to the Listen position.
Ask the subscriber how you may help.
When the subscriber indicates the party to which they desire a connection,
connect the Call plug to the desired subscriber Line Jack and ring the
called subscriber by holding the Ring switch in the Ring position (down)
and crank the magneto. When the called party responds, you may pull the
Listen switch back to the off position and work on other calls.
Finishing Calls
When either the Answer or Called subscriber of a connect circuit
cranks their magneto, the associated
Ring-off Drop will fall. You may check with the subscriber to see if they need further
assistance and/or disconnect the Lines from the Circuit, releasing the
circuit for a new call.
The Ring-off drops must be manually reset.
Initiating a Call
To contact a subscriber, connect a free circuit Answer plug to the desired
subscriber Line Jack and ring the subscriber by holding the Ring Switch
in the Ring-back position (push) and crank the magneto. When the
subscriber responds, procede as needed.
